SMART (Swarm Management And Resources Tool)

The goal of SMART is to provide, in one system, access to all significant aspects of the Swarm being managed. SMART is a software-enabled graphical interface designed to make the monitoring, management, and tasking of a swarm of satellites more informative, more intuitive, and ultimately more effective. It will accomplish this by building on, expanding, and integrating functionality already present in existing iCOSMOS software modules.

iCOSMOS-Swarm™ Applications

iCOSMOS-Swarm™ presents a wealth of dual-use opportunities and versatile applications that cater to a wide range of stakeholders. For example, government agencies such as NASA, NOAA, and state entities can harness its capabilities for climate science data collection, enabling efficient data fusion. Additionally, it enhances lunar and Mars exploration missions through the application of STTR swarm technology. Law enforcement and border security agencies could also find value in its advanced surveillance capabilities.

For Earth sciences, especially during dynamic or high-priority events like volcanic eruptions, wildfires, earthquakes, and cyclones, iCOSMOS-Swarm™ has the potential to facilitate useful remote sensing and data acquisition. It further supports cooperative data collection for monitoring atmospheric and oceanic events, benefitting both public and academic research initiatives. Academia also benefits from access to cooperative heterogeneous assets for fundamental research. Moreover, commercial clients, including satellite constellation operators, agriculture, forestry, emergency services, environmental, and carbon management entities, as well as shipping, transportation, and networked sensor operators, can leverage this technology for cooperative data collection.
